After a recent state Supreme Court ruling the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation will be able to hold contractors accountable for worker rights violations.
Due to a 2021 case, when then Attorney General Josh Shapiro filed a lawsuit against Glenn O. Hawbaker, Inc., alleging $20 million in theft of employees. Due to this ruling PennDOT can begin the process to determine whether Glenn O. Hawbaker should continue to be a pre-qualified vendor.
In a statement released by PennDOT they praised the court reaffirming the Commonwealth’s Authority to carry out legal action against companies.
