Over 1,600 students will be receiving their diplomas this weekend from Slippery Rock University.
Commencement for SRU graduate students is set to begin Friday at 6 p.m. inside the Morrow Field House. Also, twelve cadets from the U.S. Army ROTC program will be officially commissioned and take their oaths at a private ceremony on campus Friday.
Then on Saturday, there will be three separate ceremonies to recognize those receiving a bachelor’s degree. SRU President Dr. Karen Riley will provide remarks and confer degrees while future dean of the SRU College of Business Prasad Vemala will be the College of Business commencement ceremony speaker at 9 a.m. Saturday.
Each graduate is able to bring up to five guests; there will also be live streaming options available on campus and at sru.edu.
