Pennsylvania Turnpike officials are urging drivers to be aware as this week marks Crash Responder Safety Week.
The annual effort wants to raise awareness of traffic incident responder safety and the need for all drivers to slow down.
Officials remind drivers of the state’s Move Over Law, which requires drivers to move over to another lane when there is a first responder at the scene of an incident, or slow down no more than 20 miles per hour below the speed limit.
Violating the Move Over Law can start with a $500 fine and move up to a $2,000 fine.
