A Chicora woman has been placed in the Butler County Prison after being accused of assaulting an officer while being taken into custody.
The incident took place on Thursday just before 6 p.m. at an apartment on the 300 block of West Cunningham Street.
According to Butler City Police, a warrant for the arrest 20-year-old Savannah Rogers had been issued. When police went to her home she was not in the apartment but someone told officers she was in the basement.
Rogers was then taken into custody, but while being arrested she is accused of kicking an officer several times.
Bail for Rogers was set at $5,000 and she was charged with aggravated assault and resisting arrest.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for August 24.
