It will be another hot day today as the National Weather Service’s extreme heat warning remains in effect through 10 pm Friday.
Temperatures are once again projected to be in the mid to upper 90’s through today into tomorrow. The heat index values are also expected to go over 100 degrees again today and tomorrow as well.
Officials urge everyone to stay cool and hydrated by staying indoors and drinking water every 20 minutes. Also check up on others who may not have access to air conditioning.
Finally, any location in the county open to the public will allow residents to come in and cool off. The Grapevine Center at 140 North Elm Street in Butler will also open a cooling center from 8:30 a.m. until 7:30 p.m. today through Friday.
