It was a jam-packed meeting in Slippery Rock last night as residents expressed their concern over flooding issues.
Borough Council met last night and residents told members they were frustrated by the damage caused in the storms over July 4th weekend.
“During the most recent storm, however, pressure in the sewer system was so great; it backed up through our laundry tub,” Dennis Snyder said.
The flooding impacted many downtown homes and businesses, causing thousands of dollars in damage. Dentist Dr. David Gordley’s office was impacted, but it wasn’t the first time.
“This is the second time in four years I’ve had over a hundred thousand dollars’ worth of damage to my practice,” Gordley said.
Many advocated for infrastructure updates, while council members said they are continuing to look into solutions to the problem.
