Metallica drummer Lars Ulrich has sold two adjoining mansions in San Francisco’s Presidio Heights neighborhood for $68 million combined. The sale ranks as the second largest private home transaction in the city’s history. Ulrich originally purchased the properties from Salesforce CEO Marc Benioff roughly a decade ago for $36 million total, nearly doubling his investment. The buyer has not been identified. Separately, Ulrich sold a 161-acre parcel of land in Marin for $16 million to the Marin Open Space Trust, which plans to convert it into public space. Combined, the sales total $82 million. Pantera has announced a two-day festival, “The Great Nola Trendkill,” set for November 20-21 at Lakefront Arena in New Orleans. The event marks the band’s first New Orleans show in 30 years and celebrates the 30th anniversary of their 1996 album The Great Southern Trendkill. The festival, presented by Housecore Horror, Housecore Records, and Live Nation, also serves as Down’s official Volume V record release show. Additional performers include Black Label Society, Corrosion of Conformity, Power Trip, Crowbar, Eyehategod, and others. The event will also host the return of the Housecore Horror Festival, featuring screenings and special appearances. “To be back in New Orleans with such a package of bands and events is a dream come true,” said vocalist Philip Anselmo. A new exhibition honoring Motörhead and frontman Lemmy Kilmister opens October 2, 2026, at The Punk Rock Museum in Las Vegas. The display will feature personal items from Lemmy’s collection, including photographs and handwritten lyrics. Visitors will also have the rare opportunity to play Lemmy’s actual Rickenbacker bass through the Marshall stack he used on stage. Motörhead albums will be available at the museum’s Vinyl Threat record store, alongside exclusive merchandise. To mark the opening, Three Star Punk Bar will host a special evening with Metal Blade Records’ Brian Slagel DJing. The Punk Rock Museum, located at 1422 Western Avenue, opened in April 2023 and is the world’s most comprehensive attraction dedicated to punk rock history. Cage the Elephant will perform at the halftime show of the 2026 NFL Munich Game on November 15, where the New England Patriots face the Detroit Lions. Frontman Matt Shultz said the band is ready to “bring the same energy we bring to our own shows” for the stadium and global audience. The performance is part of a series of NFL international halftime shows, with the Jonas Brothers playing the Melbourne Game on September 10 and Pedro Sampaio and Ricky Martin headlining the Rio Game on September 27. Stevie Wonder is hitting the road this fall to celebrate the 50th anniversary of his landmark 1976 double album Songs in the Key of Life. Wonder will perform the album in its entirety at every show across a U.K., European, and U.S. run. The North American leg begins November 19 at Madison Square Garden in New York City and wraps December 19 at the Intuit Dome in Los Angeles, with stops in Chicago, Washington D.C., and Detroit. Originally released September 28, 1976, the album reached Number One on the Billboard 200, earned Diamond certification, and won Album of the Year at the Grammys. Sir Tom Jones has revealed ITV fired him from The Voice UK, citing “financial difficulty with insurance” and a desire to refresh the judging panel. Jones, an original coach since the show’s 2012 premiere, stated he did not choose to leave. “I did not want to leave The Voice as I love the show and really appreciate the audience,” he wrote. ITV reportedly offered him a reduced role, which he expressed dissatisfaction with. “There’s never a good time to fire an 86-year-old who’s still pretty good at his job,” Jones added. Former colleague Olly Murs offered support, calling him “one of the very best to ever sit in that chair.” Over his tenure, Jones mentored three winning contestants.
