The Pennsylvania Department of Health has announced they have confirmed another measles-associated death and reporting cases in Butler County.
The death toll is now six in Pennsylvania. The DOH is also investigating a potential seventh death that occurred in October but have not found evidence it meets the requirements to be ruled measles-associated. A fifth vaccinated person has also been infected.
Butler County has also been added to the counties impacted with two confirmed cases.
The DOH has also confirmed that over 61,000 vaccinations were administrated in October, double than a typical month.
Health officials advise everyone over the age six to be fully vaccinated with both doses to drastically reduce chances of hospitalization. More information can be found online through the state website’s Measles Dashboard.
