The Butler Area School District has received a grant that will go toward a new project to introduce math concepts to students in a new way.
The Remake Learning organization awarded the district with a $70,000 “Moonshot Grant” toward their Manufacturing Math: Applied Mathematics Learning Across Butler County Industry program.
In partnership with KnowledgeWorks and the Butler County Manufacturing Consortium, this initiative will bring mathematics learning into advanced manufacturing facilities, giving students the opportunity to earn academic credit through authentic, hands-on workplace experiences while connecting classroom learning to high-demand careers.
Butler was one of 15 schools this year to receive the grant from the Pittsburgh-based organization that aims to help students achieve academic success in the digital age.
