A Butler man has been accused of sexual assault of three children in the City of Butler.
In May, police began an investigation into 38-year-old Derek Hare for sexually assaulting a 3-year-old. Police were later informed of more accusations of Hare sexually assaulting two more children ages nine and eight.
According to charging documents, the 3-year-old appeared to be showing signs of being sexually abused. When questioned, the child struggled to provide answers.
During an interview with the two other children, they accused Hare of sexual abuse.
Physical evidence, text messages, and screen shots were also used to charge Hare with six counts of sexual assault of a child, indecent exposure, and open lewdness.
Hare is awaiting a preliminary hearing.
