A Grove City man that made several threats at the Grove City Armory, including threatening the President, has been placed in the prison.
On Monday around 3:30 pm Grove City Police were called to the armory for 53-year-old William Bobbert who was causing a disturbance. Police say Bobbert was yelling about politics and threatened the lives of officers.
At one-point Bobbert is alleged to have said “I just made a death threat to the President, and no one is taking me seriously.”
Bobbert continued to threaten the lives of officers on scene including threatening to drive through the armory in his vehicle. Police used video footage from the incident and a post by Bobbert to charge him.
The FBI also informed local police of Bobbert’s online activity before the incident.
Bobbert has been charged with terroristic threats, simple assault, and disorderly conduct. He was placed in the Mercer County Prison and his bail was set at $250,000.
A preliminary hearing has been scheduled for July 1.
